Customer Persona – good to know

E-commerce wouldn’t exist without customers, that’s clear.

We, as an online store, don’t see them, or hear them, we see the clicks – that’s it. But they see are perfectly.

We create are offer, as, we set bots and thnk about UX to reach E-commerce customer

How to know who on the other side is?

As the first rule of running E-commerce business that you need to knoe, is setting who you Customer Persona is. Starting up online store, you should imagine someone making order in your shop:

  • Is it a man or a woman?
  • How old is he / she?
  • Where does he / she work? Or wether he / she works or not…
  • How does he / she spend free time?
  • How does his / her family look like?
  • How rich he / she is?
  • What are his / her expectations towards the product you offer?

With those marks you will quide yourself in the very center of your Client’s needs. 

Specifying PERSONA is the key in creating the offer and content used in comunnicating, writing prodecy descriptions, setting up ads or UX design and corporate identity in social media.

And now what comes to your mind is probably the statement “but it’s not only one person doing shopping in my online store”.

Of course, you’re right. But PERSONA represents a group of people with similiar shopping behaviors. It’s good to imagine: the hair colour, clothes, name and picture of PERSONA – and to add some characteristics to it. Perheps you know the person in real life. Then you can ask the person for feedback regarding your selling actions. It’s really helpful.

And voila! We’ve got the first PERSONA!

Why PERSONA, no the target group? Because target is too wide term, and to specify the customer properly, we have to precisely state his characteristics.

As you read previously, in your online store there are many different people making purchase.

Try to come up with two more PERSONAS, who will be your potential customers buying your goods. Got it?

If you’re in the initial state of your E-commerce business  and you’re not really eager to deal with PERSONA creation of your own – use free app, like e.g. Make my persona.It will make you day, by guiding you step be step while asking proper questions.

Think about your PERSONA each time you write offer content, create add, sharing some news in your shop.

Having PERSONAS set and pointing your virtual words at them, you will make the right people to join your customers’ society. Personalization of marketing messages is a very helpful sales strategy.
